Windows Tweaking

Step 1: Do a proper power reset.

This means draining all the electricity out of the system.Do you remember taking your PC to a technician  because it was not turning on then works fine immediately you are there?Proper power reset helps reset the hardware and clear volatile memory as well as any memory leaks.

-Shutdown the computer.
-Once it's off,unplug the power cord.If it's a laptop,remove the battery.
-With the power cord unplugged and the battery removed, hit the power button a few times as if trying to turn it on.|This drains the electricity from the computer components
-Plug back the power cord and power the computer on.

Step 2:Clean virus infections out of your PC.

Run antivirus on your computer to remove malware and root kits  that may be running on the background. This virus infections makes your Windows PC slow because they are using system memory as well as damaging windows system files.Anti Malware Bytes and Norton Power Eraser works perfectly for me.

Step 3:Check file system for errors

This will check the file system for corruptions, wrong file extension associations and mismatched versions. It will repair known problems within windows file system.
-Open command prompt with elevated privilege.
-Type sfc /scannow and press Enter Key.
-The system will run a check for permission errors and file integrity.

Step 4:Check  the file system for permission errors.

Before you start to work on files it is always a good idea to check the file system for errors.
Run check disk on  command prompt, repairing windows may fail if there are errors with the file system.
-Open command prompt.
-Type chkdsk /r and press Enter key.If the system prompts you to schedule the file system check, type Y to do so.
-Exit from command prompt and restart your windows PC.

Make Your Windows PC Faster In Five Steps

Step 5: Run windows registry repair.

Before you make any major changes to the registry of your windows PC,first backup your registry and or create a restore  point so that you can revert to a previous  system state if you run into unforeseen problems.
CCleaner works perfectly for me when repairing windows registry.

Be sure to restart your PC after every step and review to check if the performance of your windows PC has improved.
Reinstalling windows is always my last choice when all of the above does not improve the state of your windows PC.
